Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Analytical? Confused by others' emotions or responses? Nerdy? Scientific? Intrigued by pop culture? Let me help you find the space to explore your existing thoughts, to deepen your connection to those around you or achieve the goals that have been at arms length. Whether we are talking about severe mental health obstacles, healing traumatic wounds or wanting to fulfill goals, I will guide you through the pathways to healing. I will support you in tapping into your existing power and insight to engage the most fulfilling and meaningful life that you deserve. I am an EMDR therapist who uses an existential and humanistic approach to cultivate healing and growth in my clients lives. I am easy to talk to, nerdy, compassionate and honest. I treat a wide range of individual and relational issues. I enjoy supporting people who love a person who is mentally/physically ill or struggling with substance use. I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all and I meet people where they are at. I believe you already have all the power for change within but struggle to access it as needed. If what I have written resonates, reach out and let me help you find the happiness, success, joy, and healing you’re looking for.
I strongly believe in the human capacity for healing and transformation and believe that people are strong and resilient. You may be here because you feel ready for change in your life and are looking for connection and want to move past stuck places. I am here to walk alongside you, and desire for you to walk away from therapy feeling like a more whole and healthy version of yourself. I am committed to creating a safe space for each client, whether you are feeling relationally drained, hopeless, in need of connection, or ready to process your story. Through the therapeutic process, I work with adults, couples, and adolescents to navigate relational issues, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and many other topics. I operate through the framework of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, and EFT. I want to help you be curious about your internal world and the experiences that have impacted you. College can bring a lot: new freedom, pressure to succeed, and the stress of figuring out who you are and where you are headed. Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. With 12 years of experience working in university counseling centers, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges of college and graduate students' lives. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.
I work best with students who look like they’re holding it together but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck on the inside. Many of the students I support are managing academic pressure, burnout, self-doubt, or the impact of past experiences while trying to keep up with school, work, and relationships. With nearly a decade of experience in mental health settings, I help students slow things down, make sense of what they’re feeling, and build tools that actually help in day-to-day life. Therapy with me is supportive, practical, and collaborative—a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with classes and social demands? Working through a relationship or family conflict? Hoping to build up confidence but not sure how? It’s understandable and normal that we might need help working through life’s challenges. It’s my goal to offer support and compassion as you navigate these challenges in hopes of creating a better and deeper understanding of yourself. I believe that through this understanding of yourself comes healing, growth, and an ability to identify and express your emotions. I want to help you find confidence, peace, and self-compassion. My specialties include college-aged women and post-college twenty-somethings entering the workforce. Women and young adults face unique experiences and I'm passionate about helping navigate them. Family systems therapy and attachment theory are the pillars of my work. I also use a trauma informed approach, person-centered therapy, and CBT. I approach my work with curiosity, humility, and humor (sometimes we just need to laugh a little). My goal is to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe and empowered to express your thoughts and feelings. Through a collaborative approach, I strive to create a compassionate and sincere therapeutic relationship.

I work with young women and LGBTQ+ folks with anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies. You set goals for yourself that aren’t reachable, and you feel like you’re failing, though from the outside it may look like you have it together. You know that the patterns in your life aren’t working, yet it’s hard to identify what to change and make those changes on your own. It’s a big step to even recognize that you might benefit from therapy. Therapy can help you make those changes so that you can relate differently to yourself, your loved ones, and the stress & loss in your life. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Together, we can untangle old narratives, identify the things that aren’t working in your life, and develop new coping methods that work for you. Therapy depends on us developing a safe relationship from which we can explore your feelings and concerns. In our therapy sessions, you can expect compassion as well as a focus on practical skills on how to relate differently to the stress and loss in your life. I prioritize developing a safe relationship between the two of us in therapy, from which we discuss your relationships with yourself and with others. My practice is antiracist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and HAES informed. I have immediate openings for teletherapy and in-person therapy. In addition to my regular hours (8am-5pm), I can offer evening appointments upon request. You can schedule a free 15-minute video consultation at my website, sierralarsontherapy.com.

Together, we’ll work to build resilience, develop coping strategies, and create a path toward balance and growth, so you can thrive both personally and academically.
